PICTURE BY ANNA VAN DURME
With roots in photography, somatic bodywork, and creative therapy, my practice unfolds in the space where research becomes sensing, and sensing becomes language. I am drawn to the ways art can slip beneath thought and into the quieter regions of the unconscious, where it may open something tender, unsettled, or healing.
I work through essays that weave together writing, image, and sound. Constellations of fragments that trace an ongoing inquiry into myself and the environments I move through. What emerges is not explanation, but relation:
between inner and outer worlds, between perception and response, between what is seen and what is felt.
This practice is inseparable from my curatorial work, where I seek to soften the edges that usually hold things apart. Between disciplines, between artist and audience, between making and witnessing.
I am interested in curating as a form of gathering. One that creates conditions for proximity, resonance, and exchange.
At its core, my work is an attempt to build spaces where conversation can happen beyond language alone:
between works, between people, between the contexts that shape them.
